Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is a premier autonomous Institution established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for promotion of high quality science education and research in the country.

The Institute invites applications for the following positions on contract basis:

Name of Post	Junior Research Fellow or Project Assistant
Name of Project	Infrared Plasmonics of Nanostructured Conducting Oxides for communication and spectroscopic applications
Funding agency	SERB, DST
Minimum Educational qualification ( as prescribed by the funding agency)	MSc/MTech in Physics/Photonics/Materials Science with 60% marks. And qualified in a national Level Examination (CSIR-UGC, NET including lectureship, GATE, JEST or equivalent)
Preference	Preference will be given for those with experience in (i) growth of nanostructured conducting oxides and their optoelectronic characterisation. (ii) those with published research work of high quality in related areas Desirable criteria: (i) Familiarity with semiconductor processing techniques including Photolithography, Wet etching, physical evaporation etc.

Fellowship amount	Rs 31,000 for JRF and Rs 22,000 for Project Assistant
Tenure of the post	The initial appointment will be for a year but extendable up to three years based on the performance and availability of funds.
Age	The upper age limit for JRF applicants shall be 28 years on the day of application. Relaxation as per GoI norms are applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates and women candidates.
