Bazzoni and Glaz conjecture that the weak global dimension of a Gaussian ring is 0,1 or \infty. I will introduce Gaussian rings, Prufer domains, Kaplansky's conjecture, and if time permits, I will sketch a proof of the Bazzoni-Glaz conjecture. This is a recent joint-work with Guram Donadze.
