IISER-TVM is currently functioning in the first and second floors of the building of computer science department of college of engineering trivandrum (CET), in Sreekaryam, Thiruvananthapuram. The permanent campus for IISER Thiruvanthapuram is being built in Vithura. Govt. of Kerala has handed over about 200 acres of land for this purpose to IISER. We are planning so as to move to Vithura by August 2010, with our third batch of students.

Vithura is a small village situated about 35km from Thiruvananthapuram, and is well connected by road. It is on the way to Ponmudi hills, one major tourist resort in the area. Surrounding Vithura are other scenic spots like Peppara dams, Kombaikani and Meenmutty waterfalls, Agastyakoodam peak and Vayuvanthol waterfalls. The picture shows the view of Agastyakoodam peak from the IISER campus in Vithura. This serene and tranquil environment in the lap of western Ghats will be ideal for research and teaching!
