Abstract : This talk can be broadly divided into three sections. Section 1 deals with the sets of periodic points of continuous self maps on some spaces like: intervals in R and scattered spaces.
Section 2 deals with the periods and periodic points of linear operators on vector spaces.
In section 3, we consider the conjugacy classification of certain classes of dynamical systems like:
(1) contractions on R which are strictly monotonic except at the ends and (2) continuous self maps on R having a unique critical point and no periodic point.
