Abstract: Solar neutrinos are elementary particles produced during thermonuclear fusion in the Sun's core and provide a direct probe of the solar interior. For several decades, however, experiments consistently observed fewer solar neutrinos than predicted by the Standard Solar Model, giving rise to the Solar Neutrino Problem. This presentation discusses the production and detection of solar neutrinos, the origin of this discrepancy, and the key experimental and theoretical developments that have shaped our understanding of both the Sun and neutrino physics.
