Inauguration of Critical Zone Observatory

Prof. J.N. Moorthy, Director IISER-TVM inaugurated the Critical Zone Observatory of the Institute in the Kulathupuzha Forest range on 06th May, 2025.

This cutting-edge facility comprises an Eddy Covariance Flux Observatory and a River Discharge Measurement Station, established under the School of Earth, Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (SEESS) by Dr. Prasanth V and Dr. Anand N S. These systems will play a crucial role in advancing real-time monitoring of land-atmosphere interactions and watershed hydrology.

This observatory represents a significant leap forward in our commitment to cutting-edge environmental research and sustainable, data-driven resource management.

The inauguration was held in the presence of faculty and staff of IISER-TVM, alongside distinguished officials from the Kerala Forest Department.
