Engagement of Web Programmer on short-term contract basis

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Web Programmer on a short-term contract basis for a period of six months.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

Undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering.
(A degree in Computer Applications or Computer Science/Engineering is preferred.)

Age Limit:

Preferably below 35 years.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience in Web Programming on LAMP Stack and related technologies, including:

• Object-Oriented Programming in PHP-CLI and PHP-CGI.
• Experience with any of the following server-side (MVC) frameworks: Laravel, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, Laminas (ZendPHP), or Yii.
• Experience with any of the following client-side frameworks/libraries: HTMX, jQuery, Bootstrap, React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs and web services using XML and JSON for data transfer.

Desirable Skills (Added Advantage):

• Proficiency in using design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel-Draw.
• Ability to design and develop aesthetically appealing and content-rich websites.
• Working knowledge of Linux server administration.
• Working knowledge or expertise in using online design platforms, including Canva, Adobe Express, and other similar tools.

Terms of Employment:

• This is a purely short-term contractual position, offered for six months and may be extended based on the requirement and performance of the candidate.
• Remuneration: Upto INR 35,000/- (consolidated) per month, commensurate with experience.
