Applicants should have a M.Sc./ M.Sc. Tech/ M. Tech. degree in Geology/ Applied Geology/Geophysics or Integrated M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech./ M. Tech./BS-MS degree in Geology/Applied Geology /Geological Sciences/Earth Sciences. Minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (or first-class equivalent) or first class in Master’s program (M.Sc./M.Tech) in Geology/Applied Geology/Earth Science or a closely related field. Priority will be given: i) Having a GATE (with a currently valid score)/CSIR-UGC NET (LS) qualification or any National Level Examination. ii) BS-MS/MSc students from any of the IISERs/IITs/IISc with CGPA 8 or above on a 10-point scale are eligible to apply.

Desirable Qualifications
|
- The candidate should have a strong interest in structural
geology, rheology, metamorphic petrology, mineral
chemistry, and geophysics, particularly in relation to
continental deformation.
- Prior experience in structural and lithological field mapping,
collection of oriented samples, and plotting/interpretation of
field data will be desirable. Experience with GIS-based
mapping and visualization tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS will
be an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with petrography, microstructural analysis,
SEM/EDS/WDS/EPMA/EBSD-based datasets will be an
advantage. Further training will be provided.
- Working knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python or equivalent
programming language is desirable. A willingness to learn
numerical/data-visualization methods will be essential.
