Minimum Educational qualification ( as prescribed by the funding agency)	Applicants should have a M.Sc./ M.Sc. degree in Marine Science/ Chemical Oceanography/Physical Oceanography/Environmental Science/Marine Biology/Chemistry or Integrated M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech./ M. Tech./BS-MS degree in Earth Sciences/Chemistry or closely related fields. 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (or first-class equivalent) or first class in Master’s program (M.Sc./M.Tech) GATE (with currently valid score)/CSIR-UGC NET qualified or any National Level Examination.
Desirable Qualifications	The candidate should have basic understanding of aquatic biogeochemistry The candidate is expected to go for regular field works in estuaries and lakes and hence, expected to be seaworthy. The candidate is expected to get trained on Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry and should be able to handle the instrument alone after the training period. The Candidate should be able to design and carry out aquatic field works and experiments alone if necessary. The candidate should be able to learn and work on ecosystem modelling.

Tenure of the post	The position is initially for a period of one year and is extendable up to two years based on the candidate’s performance and project requirements.
