Minimum Educational qualification ( as prescribed by the funding agency)	M.Sc./ B. Tech / M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/ Earth Science/ Physics/ Mathematics/Meteorology/Climate Science/Oceanography/Mechanical Engineering/ Civil Engineering or equivalent And Qualified in National Level Examinations like CSIR-UGC-NET(LS), GATE, JEST or equivalent Or BS-MS/MSc students from any of the IISERs/IITs/IISc with CGPA 8 or above on a 10-point scale are exempted from national level test eligibility related criteria.
Desirable Qualifications	Background in Tropical Meteorology, with a focus on monsoon dynamics or Low pressure systems or Tropical Convergence Zone. Sound understanding of Fluid Dynamics, particularly as it applies to large-scale atmospheric circulation. Proficiency in Python programming, including use of scientific libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, xarray). Experience or strong interest in atmospheric modelling and climate data.
