Minimum Educational qualification ( as prescribed by the funding agency)	M.Sc./ B. Tech / M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/ Earth Science/ Physics/ Mathematics/Meteorology/Climate Science/Oceanography/Mechanical Engineering/ Civil Engineering or equivalent And Qualified in National Level Examinations like CSIR-UGC-NET(LS), GATE, JEST or equivalent OR BS-MS/MSc students from any of the IISERs/IITs/IISc with CGPA 8 or above on a 10-point scale are exempted from national level test eligibility related criteria
Desirable qualifications	Background in Tropical Meteorology, with a focus on monsoon dynamics or low pressure systems. Sound understanding of Fluid Dynamics, particularly as it applies to large-scale atmospheric circulation. Proficiency in Python programming, including use of scientific libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikitlearn, xarray). Experience or strong interest in applying Machine Learning techniques to atmospheric or climate data.
