The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is one of the premier science education and research institutes established by the Government of India in 2008 to impart high-quality education integrated with outstanding research in modern science.

The Institute invites applications for the following positions on contract basis:

Title of the project	Holocene sea level fluctuations and geomorphic changes in the Lakshadweep Archipelago, Arabian Sea: Insights from mangrove sediments and exposed coral boulders
Funding agency	Anusandhan National Research Foundation, Inclusivity Research Grant (ANRF/IRG)
Minimum Educational qualification ( as prescribed by the funding agency)	M.Sc./M.Tech. in Earth Sciences/Geology, Environmental Science, Marine Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences, or a closely related field with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA
Desirable qualifications	Strong background in Earth Sciences, with a foundational understanding of past sea-level changes and paleoclimate systems. Prior geological fieldwork experience, especially in remote or challenging environments. Swimming proficiency is essential due to potential fieldwork in coastal zones. Hands-on experience with data collection techniques in geosciences and environmental studies. Competence in using GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS for spatial data analysis. Proficiency in Origin/sigma plot and programming, including use of scientific libraries

Fellowship amount	27,000 per month + (HRA) admissible as per Institute rules.
Tenure of the post	The position is initially for a period of one year, and is extendable up to two years based on the candidate's performance and project requirements.
