What the Earth looked like billions of years ago, and how its chemical composition compared to other planetary bodies, remains one of the most compelling questions in planetary science. My journey began in high school during a lecture on plate tectonics on Earth, which made me curious about the Earth and why it evolves differently from other planets.

Starting from my Master at Pondicherry University, my curiosity has been on the geochemical evolution of the Earth billions of years ago, that extended to my PhD at the University of Bern, Switzerland. During my first postdoc in 2020 at ETH Zürich, Switzerland, my research has focused on extinct isotopes to decode a crucial window in early Earth history (>4.2 billion years). Through my postdoc at the University of Cologne, I could connect ancient rock signatures to core formation, late meteorite accretion, and the Moon-forming impact. A field expedition in Hawai'i highlighted how modern lava flows carry 'chemical memories' of the deep Earth and extraterrestrial materials. This is a humbling reminder of how much we still have to discover about our planet's past and present.

Currently, I focus on fingerprinting Earth’s mantle heterogeneities over time using extinct radionuclides and non-traditional stable isotopes. I am also expanding my interest into the isotope compositions (IC) of extraterrestrial materials such as meteorites and lunar materials. To understand these planetary processes, I separate trace elements using customized ion-exchange chromatography in an ultra-clean laboratory environment.

Alongside my research, I am an active member of the European Association of Geochemistry (EAG) Diversity Equity Inclusion initiative. We are dedicated to breaking down structural barriers and transforming the culture of our scientific community. Our mission is to build safe, welcoming, and actively anti-discriminatory environments where underrepresented scientists can truly thrive.

Beyond Geology, I paint abstracts mainly using acrylics, and do occasional sketches. I also love to travel in my free time to get closer to nature and experience different cultures. When I have some quiet time, I enjoy reading, writing, and occasionally playing the violin.
