Generation of Long-lived singlet diradicals with pi-single bonded character

Singlet diradicals are key intermediates inprocesses involving homolytic bond-cleavage and formation reaction. Thus, thesinglet diradicals should be the short-lived intermediates due to the fastradical-radical coupling reaction.

In the present talk, I will talk about thelong-lived singlet 1,3-diradicals with p-single bonded character.
