Abstract : A beta-gamma system is a two-dimensional conformal field theory containing bosonic complex fields and their canonical conjugates, together with a set of constraints. Beta-Gamma systems have found several applications in mathematics and physics, particularly, for covariant quantization of string theory in non-trivial backgrounds, e.g., using pure spinor formalism. In this seminar, we present various algorithms for calculating partition function of such systems and discuss its applications.
